Man who fatally stabbed 2 friends, injured another convicted of murder
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — A man who killed two of his friends and injured another in North Attleborough in 2019 has been convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole, according to authorities.
The Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn said Wednesday that Daniel Randall was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of armed assault with intent to murder, and one count of mayhem.
On Aug. 29, 2019, police said they responded to Birch Road for a report of a stabbing involving three people.
Police said Aidan Hanrahan and Joshua Lemken, both 21, died after being stabbed by Randall. Erik Lunstedt, 21, was injured.
Court documents show that Hanrahan, Lemken, and Lunstedt were dropped off at Randall’s Birch Road home. They were celebrating Hanrahan’s 21st birthday and were going to be picked up by Hanrahan’s uncle at 8:30 p.m.
Randall told police he stabbed the three men in self-defense because they tried jumping him over a bag of marijuana.
Police found Lunstedt outside the home and Hanrahan and Lemken inside.
Randall was found a short time later at a nearby apartment complex with injuries of his own. He told police that he injured his hand when he pulled out the knife.
The suspect called 911 and confessed to police that he killed somebody.
Police said they all knew each other, but Hanrahan and Randall were the most familiar with one another.
Randall is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday afternoon.
