Rhode Islanders receive first Providence College charity license plates
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Islanders received the first Providence College charity license plates on Friday.
Officials from Providence College and the state Division of Motor Vehicles handed the pre-purchased plates out at the Schneider Arena lobby.
Friars fans posed with mascots as they received the first plates of their kind made in the Ocean State.

Part of the proceeds for each plate made will benefit the school’s Angel Fund, which helps students of families facing financial challenges to stay in Friartown.
Those who picked up their new plate Friday will not have to go to the DMV.
Those who bought one but could not make it on Friday will need to visit the DMV.
