Tornado damage forces some Mattapoisett residents from their homes
MATTAPOISETT, Mass. (WLNE) — Cleanup crews began to remove fallen trees and other debris from homes on Wednesday after two tornadoes touched down in Massachusetts.
Most of the people living on Eldorado Drive in Mattapoisett are staying in hotels until the remnants of the storm are cleared. Some homes were significantly damaged Tuesday as the strong winds took down trees and wires.
Part of the area was also without power throughout the day as heavy rain flooded parts of Southern New England.
