Health officials say 2 more Rhode Island beaches can reopen for swimming

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health said two more beaches can reopen for swimming after several were closed due to unsafe bacteria levels.
Health officials recommended reopening Kingston’s Camp Beach in Kingston and Camp Watchaug Beach in Charlestown on Tuesday.
Last week, health officials said the Kent County YMCA Beach in Warwick and Camp Hoffman Beach in Kingston were once again safe for swimming.
The department will continue to check beach water quality until Labor Day.
Swimmers should check online before they head to the beach, as the status of beaches in Rhode Island can often change.
