FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE) — The Freetown Police Department said that it detained a suspect who caused an hours-long search that involved K-9 and Airwing units Friday.

Brandon Demoranville had five active warrants out for his arrest when police attempted to detain him Friday on Chace Road. He then fled into the woods where police lost track of him.

The department said that it received multiple calls around 9 a.m. Sunday from people who reported seeing Demoranville in a Mobil Mart in East Freetown.

Police located Demoranville in a parked vehicle with his girlfriend and mother, where he was taken into custody.

Demoranville has been arrested by Freetown police before on assault and breaking and entering charges.

The department said that he is being held without bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
