Pawtucket reopens Slater Park Dog Park

PAWTCUKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Parts of the Pawtucket community gathered at Slater Park Sunday afternoon to reopen the dog park there.
Mayor Donald Grebien alongside members of the Slater Park Dog Park Committee and other officials gathered to reopen the park after it was closed for almost five months.
Grebien thanked the committee for its hard work in getting the park open and pushing for one of the town’s interests.
“They drive, day-in and day-out, they care about this, and they drive us to do the right thing,” he said.
The Paul J. Wildenhain Memorial Animal Shelter, which had closed due to staffing shortages in 2020, was also reopened at the park in April.
