URI Using Caution with David Green after Two-Time Transfer Rule Lifted

As Archie Miller’s URI men’s basketball team gets closer to conference play, they’re dealing with a unique situation this week.

A Federal Judge in West Virginia issued a temporary restraining order against the NCAA and its transfer rules. In basic terms, players that have transferred twice, who were supposed to sit out this season, are allowed to play over the next two weeks.

The tricky part for Rhody is if the order runs out after two weeks. It may result in a player losing a whole year of his or her college eligibility for two weeks of games.
