PC Men’s Hockey Picked Third in Hockey East Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The Providence College men’s hockey team was picked to finish third in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches’ Poll released on Monday (Sept. 16). The Friars also earned one first-place vote and totaled 88 points in the poll.

After finishing fourth in 2023-24, the Friars enter the 2024-25 campaign returning their top-five leading scorers in Nick Poisson (Vancouver, B.C.), Chase Yoder (Fairview, Texas), Tanner Adams (Northport, N.Y.), Guillaume Richard (Cap-Sante, Que.) and Hudson Malinoski (Saskatoon, Sask.). The team welcomes in 14 new players to the roster this season – five graduate transfers and nine freshmen. Three freshmen, Trevor Connelly (Tustin, Calif., Vegas Golden Knights), John Mustard (Oradell, N.J., Chicago Blackhawks) and Logan Sawyer (Orangeville, Ont., Montreal Canadiens) were all selected in the 2024 NHL Draft.

The Friars begin the 2024-25 regular season in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game against North Dakota on Saturday, Oct. 12 in Grand Forks, N.D.
