FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A man charged with murder who has been on the run for almost a year has been taken into custody by Fall River Police.

26-year-old Tajon Saxon was indicted for that charge previously, as well as carrying a loaded illegal firearm, and carrying an illegal firearm for the May 13, 2023 homicide of 23-year-old Diamonte Odom in Fall River.

According to officials, the defendant was located and apprehended yesterday in the City of New Bedford by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section after an extensive manhunt.

Saxon is also wanted on a default warrant in connection to the May 2021 Fall River double-homicide of Jovaughn Mills and Miguel Sanjurjo, where he was charged with two counts of accessory to murder-after the fact.

A man also charged in those murders, Jeremy Holmes, was found guilty last week.

Saxon will be arraigned this morning in Fall River Superior Court.
