URI’s Fatts Russell Enters Transfer Portal

Four year URI guard Fatts Russell has entered his name into the transfer portal, ABC6 has confirmed.

Russell is the Rams’ all time steals leader. He has a fifth year of eligibility granted to all players because of the COVID-19 pandemic altered 2020-21 season.

The Philadelphia native released a statement on his decision, saying:

“Dear Rhody Nation,

“I wanted to take the time to again thank you all for the love, memories, and strong limitless support you have shown me in my four years here. This will always be my second home.

“As I look at my next step as a professional, I want to ensure I am making the best decision that will help me fulfill my dreams. I am placing my name in the transfer portal to consider a grad year.

“I want to review all my options as I plan on what is next. Thank you to coach Cox, the staff, administration and you Rhody nation. I promise I will visit home.”
