9 Days of Dates: Hitting the trails along the Blackstone River
LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — Grab your favorite person, your four-legged friend and pick out one of more than 100 hiking spots in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and plan a date to explore.
Come out and see what’s here, we never visit what’s in our backyard.
This is a great time, especially to go out on a date and go for a hike or a walk.
ABC6 Meteorologist Kristina Shalhoup, ABC6 Anchor Tiffany Murphy and her rescue dog Roman bundled up on a chilly winter day and were ready to scout out a new spot.
The hike along the Blackstone River in Lincoln is the perfect afternoon activity.
“You get out and you can watch the water flow and just be out and have fun,” said Devon Kurtz from the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor
No matter the season, you can find a hike for you while taking a break from the stresses of life.
“It’s a great place to stop and let the world keep going when you’re not,” said Kurtz.
If you’d rather not go it alone, Kurtz said the Heritage Corridor offers group outings so you can meet new friends out in the wild.
“We do guided hikes throughout the winter months. There are events going on all the time,” said Kurtz.
Coming up Wednesday, we head to the preserve as Kristina learns to horseback ride.
