Three Bryant Bulldogs Earn America East Women’s Basketball Postseason Honors

BOSTON, MASS. – Mia ManciniNia Scott and Olivia Fernandez of the Bryant University women’s basketball team were named to the America East All-Conference teams by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.

Mancini made the All-America East second team, Scott was named to the All-Defensive team, and Fernandez earned a spot on the All-Rookie team.

Mancini finished the regular-season, averaging 11.1 ppg, averaged a career-high 3.2 apg, shot 33.7% from the field, and 29% from deep. She also was a career-best 80% from the free-throw line. She had sixteen double-figure scoring games and six 20+ point games. She averaged a team-best 11.2 ppg in AE play and shot 35% from the field. Mancini had 19 games where she made one from deep and ten games with multiple three-pointers. She recorded her 100th career three-pointer against UMass Lowell and had a career-high eight assists at Binghamton (Jan. 25). In two years with the Bulldogs, Mancini has tallied 706 career points and 113 three-pointers.

Scott had a career year, tallying a career-high seven ppg and 8.6 rpg. She had 13 double-figure rebound games and ten games with 10+ scoring games. Scott recorded seven double-doubles this season and posted a career-high 18 points in the win over Maine (Mar. 1). She had a stretch from Nov. 12 – Nov. 22 where Scott posted five straight games of 10+ rebounds and three double-doubles. She had seven conference games with double-figure rebounds and five 10+ point games. She led the conference in rebounds (249) and rebounds per game (8.6).

Fernandez played in 29 games this season as a Freshman making ten starts. She tallied two games with a career-high ten points. Fernandez recorded 23 steals and 76 rebounds in the regular season. She posted a career-high five assists in the win over UMass Lowell (Feb. 27). Fernandez recorded back-to-back games of a career-best six rebounds versus NJIT (Feb. 1) and UAlbany (Feb. 6). She tallied six games with multiple steals, including a career-high four against CCSU (Nov. 12) and Brown (Nov. 12).

This is the second consecutive season where the Bulldogs have had three players earn All-Conference awards.
