Brown QB Jake Willcox Invited To Patriots Rookie Minicamp

FOXBORO, Mass. – A former Brown quarterback is getting his shot at the next level. Jake Willcox, a two-time All-Ivy selection and three-year starter has been invited to rookie minicamp with the New England Patriots.

A Milton, Massachusetts native, Willcox ranked second in the Ivy League and 18th in the FCS in 2024 with 2,497 passing yards (13th nationally with 249.7 passing yards per game), ranked fourth nationally with 24.60 completions per game, and was second in the league and ninth in the FCS with 282.1 total yards of offense per game. He added 11 touchdown passes and a completion percentage of 64.1. His 322 rushing yards were also more than triple his previous career high.

A five-year member of the Bears, Willcox ranks among Brown’s all-time leaders in numerous passing categories, including passing yards (2nd/7,218), completions (2nd/708), touchdown passes (4th/42), and completion percentage (4th/.637). He also finished his career with 7,702 yards of total offense, which ranks second all-time, in addition to ranking eighth with 5.88 yards of total offense per play. Willcox has been nationally recognized the last two seasons, being named a finalist in 2023 for the Walter Payton Award, given to FCS Football’s Top Offensive Player, and was also named to the award’s Preseason Watch List in 2024.
