School supplies gathered for families in Cranston
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Dozens turned out in Cranston on Sept. 6 to help ensure students go back to school with everything they need.
Nonprofit Cranston Cares held an event at Itri Park asking for donations of school supplies.
The event featured a bounce house, food, and a fashion show.
Thousands of pens, pencils, notebooks, and other supplies were dropped off by attendees.
The nonprofit said they want to make sure local families and teachers in need have the tools to be successful as they start off a new school year.
