Providence man pleads guilty to illegal possession of firearm

Providence, R.I. (WLNE)- A Providence resident pleaded guilty today to possessing illegal firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon.

On October 27, Roland S. Morgan was stopped for a traffic infraction which resulted in the illegal possession arrest. 

According to the U.S. District Attorneys office for Massachusetts shared with ABC6,

“A subsequent search of Morgan’s vehicle recovered, among other things, a loaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver from under the seat where Morgan had been sitting, 38 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, 10 metal tipped arrows, a hunting bow, narcotics, a Crossman pellet gun and a body armor vest.”

“Morgan is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition due to prior felony convictions.”

Morgan faces sentencing of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is set for March 30.
