Arrest made in Hawthorne Country Club fire
DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts State Police arrested a man in connection with the 2023 Hawthorne Country Cub fire.
31-year-old Shawn Medeiros was charged with one count of burning a building.
The fire occurred on May 7 and resulted in the building being a total loss.
The Department of Fire Services said that investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set due to the presence of accelerants at multiple points in the building.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said that at his arraignment Medeiros was released on the condition that he stay away from the Hawthorne Country Club and that he report to the probation department at least once per week.
