KINGSTON, R.I. – The Atlantic 10 released more schedule changes for men’s basketball Friday afternoon. Rhode Island no longer will play at Saint Joseph’s on March 2. Instead, the Rams will travel to Duquesne on Feb. 27 for what becomes the new regular-season finale for URI.

The schedule changes came in the wake of Thursday’s announcement from the league that the dates of the men’s and women’s basketball championship tournaments were trading weeks. With the bulk of the A-10 men’s basketball now being played March 3-6, the final weeks of the regular season needed to be altered.

Rhode Island will make a return trip to Duquesne on Saturday, Feb. 27. The Rams played at Duquesne on Jan. 20 as well, a 71-69 loss played at La Roche University’s Kerr Fitness Center. The Feb. 27 contest will be played at Duquesne’s newly-minted UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

Assuming the games Sunday at George Washington and on Feb. 27 at Duquesne get played as currently scheduled, Rhode Island will have played 24 regular-season games. That is just one shy of the 25-game total the Rams began the season with. In this highly unusual pandemic season, that is pretty amazing.
