Bill Belichick parting ways with New England Patriots after 24 seasons

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Bill Belichick will no longer be the head coach of the New England Patriots.

The Patriots and their head coach are parting ways after 24 seasons of Belichick leading the team, according to multiple reports on Thursday.

Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft spoke to media at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough following the announcement:

Belichick’s time with the Patriots ends after a 4-13 season in 2023 — but his run with the organization was unprecedented: six Super Bowl championships, nine AFC titles, 17 AFC East division titles and 292 wins overall as head coach.

He and Tom Brady were the faces of the Patriots for years.

Brady retired from the NFL last February after 23 seasons and seven championships.
