Brown’s Kyla Jones Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Brown women’s basketball’s Kyla Jones was named Ivy League Player of the Week after leading Brown to two wins, the league announced on Monday (Nov. 27).

Jones led the Bears averaging 27 points per game, shooting 55 percent from the field and going 11-for-12 from the free throw line in road wins over Loyola Chicago and Monmouth. Jones also added 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

The Chicago native scored 20 points with 18 coming in the second half in a win at Loyola Chicago that saw Brown overcome a 16-point third quarter deficit. Jones was 8-for-8 from the free throw line and had four rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Bears beat the Ramblers.

Against Monmouth, Jones matched her career-high with 34 points, going 15-for-23 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. Jones scored 16 of Brown’s 18 fourth quarter points as the Bears erased a 17-point third quarter deficit to come back against the Hawks. Jones also added five rebounds and three assists in the win.
