Cadillac Lounge robbery, person of interest in custody

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) — Workers arrived on scene at the Cadillac Just before Monday afternoon to find manager Eddi Imondi running out the door saying the lounge had just been robbed.

He recalled the scene to ABC 6 News earlier, explaining that “as I’m facing the safe, I’m taking out some of the cash, it was loose cash and uh, a gun goes to my head and he says, ‘It’s a robbery.'”

The suspect made a specific request for Imondi to open a safe that had most of the lounge’s money in it. It was a red flag to the manager who thinks the robber may have had information about it beforehand.

“You don’t care about that, ‘No not that safe, I want the money that’s in that one.’ What does that tell you? I said, ‘Well somebody knows something here, more than me’,” Imondi added.

Imondi said the robber ran out the patio door and allegedly hopped the fence to the train tracks to run away. He couldn’t tell who the man was, since he had a mask and hat on.

“There’s nothing I can say other than I hope they catch him,” he said.

Providence police told ABC 6 that they do have a person of interest in custody.

Police were also on the scene at a Walgreens Monday afternoon. At this time, they could not confirm if these two incidents were connected.
