Christopher Maron Named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week
Following his late game heroics and impact in Brown’s 23-21 win over Cornell on Saturday, senior kicker Christopher Maron has been named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week.
Maron went 3-for-4 on his field goal attempts, including two in the fourth quarter. His first field goal of 44 yards put Brown on the board in the opening moments of the second quarter. He later added one from 35 yards out from the right hash and into the wind that brought the Bears within 21-20 with 5:24 to play in the game. His final field goal came from 29 yards out as time expired to give Brown the win. It was the team’s first game-winning field goal since October 2015.
Maron’s honor is the fourth Ivy weekly award for Brown this season, joining Elias Archie’s Defensive Player of the Week recognition (Sept. 30) and Matt Childs two Rookie of the Week honors (Sept. 30, Oct. 7).
Brown will return to action this Saturday when it hosts Penn on Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day and Salute to Service Day. Kickoff is set for noon on NESN+ and ESPN+.
