Cranston West’s Gianna Desmarais Wins Individual All Around State Gymnastics Title

Cranston West’s Gianna Desmarais won the individual all around state championship in girls’ gymnastics Saturday.

The sophomore says her confidence improved as the competition went along.

This was the first year the Rhode Island Interscholastic League split the team and individual meets. La Salle won the state team championship, with Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout getting the top spot in Division II.
