Cranston woman convicted in 2020 hit-and-run death of pedestrian sentenced
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Skyla Gilroy, the Cranston woman found guilty for killing a man in a hit-and-run in Warwick, was officially sentenced Friday morning.
Gilroy was sentenced to ten years to serve at the ACI with four years in prison and two under home confinement.
The hit-and-run happened on December 22, 2020 when Gilroy was driving on Airport Road and hit 51-year-old Donald Boss, who was walking in front of a gas station.
Gilroy’s car dragged Boss’ body, and she then left the scene.
Two months later, authorities arrested Gilroy in Arizona and extradited her back to Rhode Island to face the charges.
