Cranston woman convicted in hit-and-run dragging death of pedestrian to be sentenced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cranston woman found guilty for killing a man in a hit-and-run in Warwick will be sentenced Friday.

The hit-and-run happened on December 22, 2020.

24-year-old Skyla Gilroy was driving on airport road when she hit 51-year-old Donald Boss, who was walking in front of a gas station.

Gilroy’s car dragged Boss’ body, and she then left the scene.

Boss later died from his injuries.

Two months later, authorities located and arrested Gilroy in Arizona and extradited her back to Rhode Island to face the charges.
