Cumberland’s Tyler Kolek Drafted at #34 Overall, Knicks Deal For Marquette Star

Cumberland’s Tyler Kolek hearing his name called in the NBA Draft Thursday.

The Marquette star was selected at #34 overall in the second round.

Kolek was picked by Portland, but shortly after the pick, the New York Knicks trading for the guard.

The Rhode Islander will soon call Madison Square Garden, where he won a BIG EAST Tournament title with the Golden Eagles, home again with his NBA franchise.

Kolek is the first player from the state of Rhode Island to be selected in the NBA Draft since Ricky Ledo in 2013.
