ESPN: Mac Jones to start for Pats against Jets
FOXOBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Mac Jones is set to get the start behind center in Week 8 against the Jets, according to a report from ESPN.
ESPN NFL reporter Field Yates is reporting Jones will get the nod ahead of Bailey Zappe in the AFC East matchup.
Yates said Jones took about 90% of the first team snaps in practice Wednesday.
Jones started last week in the 33-14 loss to the Bears but was replaced after the Pats third series by Zappe.
Zappe led New England to back-to-back touchdown drives, but was shutout in the second half.
The Patriots are 3-4 heading into Sunday’s game.
