Fall River man convicted of five robberies in 48 hours

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Fall River man convicted of five robberies in 48 hours was sentenced to five to seven years in state prison, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn.

Matthew Rodrigues, 34, pleaded guilty to four counts of unarmed robbery and one count of masked/armed robbery.

The robberies started on October 27, 2021 when Rodrigues robbed a Bay Coast Bank in Fall River.

Three hours later he robbed a Santander Bank in Raynham.

On October 28, Rodrigues entered a Shell gas station in Fall River wearing a mask and told the clerk, “Give me the money and don’t press that panic button.”

On October 29, Rodrigues robbed a Saint Anne’s Credit Union and later a Bank Five, both in Fall River.
