Former Cranston councilor to appear in court

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Former Cranston City Councilor Matthew Reilly will be arraigned in court today.

In late June, The Providence County Grand Jury indicted Reilly on upgraded charges of child molestation, one of enticement of a minor child, and one count of assault.

Reilly was a legal guardian of a 12-year-old girl who originally filed a complaint against him last year. 

Reilly also faced drug possession charges when he was found semi-conscious in a car

Reilly will be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court.
