Jury selection set to begin in Brian Walshe murder trial

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A Cohasset man accused of murdering and dismembering his wife in 2023 appeared in Norfolk Superior Court Monday for his final pre-trial hearing.

Jury selection in the murder trial of Brian Walshe will begin Tuesday after the defendant was found competent to stand trial by a judge last week.

This decision was made after Walshe underwent a 20-day evaluation period at Bridgewater State Hospital.

The victim Ana Walshe, 39, disappeared on New Year’s Day in 2023, with investigators searching in and around her Cohasset home, along with her townhouse in Washington, D.C.

Her body was never found, but authorities believe that she was murdered and dismembered by her husband.

Walshe’s trial is on track to begin on December 1.
