Jury selection underway in trial of man accused of stabbing and killing roommate in 2021

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Jury selection is underway in the trial of the man accused of stabbing and killing his roommate in August of 2021.

Marcus Huffman Jones, of Providence, is accused of stabbing Kenneth McClain at their home on Superior Street.

On Aug. 16, 2021, Providence police responded to reports of a stabbing on Superior St.

Upon arrival, officers saw McClain collapse onto the kitchen floor from his injuries.

He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died one week later.

Huffman Jones was determined to be the suspect and arrested on August 17. He was initially charged with one count of domestic felony assault, but after McClain died, was charged with first degree murder.
