LAWRENCE, Mass. (WLNE) – The 13 United States service members killed in Kabul last month will be posthumously honored with a Purple Heart, a spokesperson from the Marines confirmed Wednesday.

All 11 Marines killed in the suicide bombing will receive the award. That group includes Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo of Lawrence. Her body will return home to Massachusetts on Saturday.

A wake will be held next Tuesday at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Lawrence.

An Army soldier and Navy sailor were also killed in the attack.
