Bryant University men’s basketball sophomore Michael Green III was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week presented by Pilot Pen, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Green III had a career-week for the Bulldogs, averaging 21.3 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 4.7 assists per game in a 3-0 week. He was at his best late in the game, producing game-winning baskets in the final minute twice.

The Bronx native had a monstrous game in Bryant’s win over A-10 foe UMass on Monday, scoring a career-high 33 points, including a layup with 1:03 left to break a 84-84 tie. He scored 22 of his 33 points in the second half and his 33 total points are the sixth-most in a single game in DI program history.

Monday’s performance came three days after he became the first player in program history to have 20+ points and 10+ assists in the same game, finishing with 22 and 10 against Wagner. He was the late-game hero in that one as well, breaking a 73-73 tie with a three pointer in the final 40 seconds.
