PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said that a North Smithfield man was sentenced to serve six years at the Adult Correctional Institutions for possession of 15 ghost guns and dozens of large capacity magazines.

44-year-old Elliott Knorr previously pled guilty to one count of possession of ghost guns, one count of possession of large capacity magazines, and one count of conspiracy to discharge a firearm in a compact area.

Knorr was arrested in March 2023 when he was identified as a suspect in an incident where a shotgun was fired near Pacheco Park in North Smithfield.

During his arrest police seized 23 guns, including 15 ghost guns, ghost gun jigs, and manufacturing tools, 36 large capacity magazines, additional non-large capacity magazines, significant amounts of various calibers of ammunition, and a cellphone that had video of Knorr being voluntarily shot with “rubber buck shot” in his backyard, which is near the park.

Neronha said Knorr was sentenced to 10 years, with six years to serve and a four-year suspended sentence with 10 years of probation.
