Over 100 officers show up to watch son of fallen officer play baseball

WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE)- Over 100 officers from the Worcester Police Department showed up to watch Officer Manny Familia’s son play baseball on Sunday morning, just two days after his father’s passing.
The department posted a photo of the crowd after the game on its social media accounts.
As he took the field, 13-year-old Jovan Familia stopped at the pitcher’s mound to write his fathers badge number, 267, in the dirt.
Jovan played the game in honor of what he felt his father would want him to do.
“For us to be here is like Manny being here himself,” said Worcester Police officer Jonathan Daige.
Jovan’s team was able to win the game, celebrating with the officers after the final out.
