Part of Route 146 in North Smithfield to close temporarily Sunday afternoon

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation said that part of Route 146 in North Smithfield will close for bridge work this afternoon.

RIDOT said the closure will be from Route 146A South to Route 146 South and will start at 3 p.m.

In addition, Route 146 North will be reduced to one lane, and a detour will be in place.

RIDOT said that the closure should end by 5 a.m. Monday morning.

The North Smithfield closure is just one of a number of road closures that started this weekend.
