Patriots News & Notes Monday: Pats Releasing Veterans Guy & Phillips, Contract For Brown Voids, Ferentz Retires

Monday was a busy day in Foxboro as the Patriots prepare for the next phase of the offseason.

The team reportedly moving on from two veterans on defense.

Defensive lineman & former captain Lawrence Guy is being released from the team. Guy confirming the news with a goodbye on social media.

Defensive back Adrian Phillips is also reportedly being released, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Trent Brown’s contract voiding Monday & the Pats will not be offering an extension at this time, making the offensive tackle a free agent next month.

Also Monday, veteran offensive lineman James Ferentz announcing his retirement from football.
