FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – In a tribute to the most decorated quarterback in NFL history, Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots proudly unveiled a statue of Tom Brady prior to the team’s 2025 preseason opener. Thousands of Patriots fans filled the Patriot Place Plaza, while thousands more watched the ceremony from inside Gillette Stadium.
Brady becomes the first player in franchise history to receive the honor of a bronze statue. The unveiling cements his legacy, not just as a record-breaking quarterback, but as a “Patriot for life.” Standing atop a granite hexagon base – symbolizing the six Super Bowl titles he won during his 20-year career with the Patriots – the statue captures Brady in a timeless celebratory pose, representing both poise and triumph.
“Tom Brady’s journey proves that it’s not where you start, but where you finish that counts,” said Robert Kraft, Chairman and CEO of the New England Patriots. “His NFL journey ascended from the 199th overall selection to the greatest of all time. He demanded excellence of himself and made everyone around him better. Tom wasn’t just the face of our franchise; he was the heartbeat. It’s hard to overstate what Tom accomplished. He didn’t just rewrite the record books, he practically authored a new volume. This statue ensures his legacy will be preserved for generations to come.”
Located at the gateway to Gillette Stadium, adjacent to the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by RTX and ProShop, and silhouetted by the stadium lighthouse, the statue becomes a new attraction for fans year-round. Jeff Buccacio, owner of Buccacio Sculpture Services, is a lifelong Patriots fan who grew up in Natick, Mass., and who led the design and execution of the sculpture. He and his staff invested over 20,000 hours of craftsmanship to deliver a piece that is extraordinarily detailed.
The image of Tom Brady, from head to toe, stands 12-feet tall. Overall, from the bottom of the base to the top of Brady’s fist, the statue measures 17 feet in all, representing the 17 AFC East division championships Brady led the Patriots to in his 18 seasons as a starter. The granite base was quarried in Vermont and weighs over 10,500 pounds. The bronze statue adds 1,800 pounds to the structure, which weighs in at just over six tons.
Cast in bronze, the likeness of Tom Brady now stands where a dynasty was born and memories endure. It marks the place where one man’s journey became an entire region’s pride.
