Ponaganset Wins Second Straight State Wrestling Championship, Breaking Meet Records

The Ponaganset wrestling team won its second straight Rhode Island state championship Saturday.

The Chieftains broke state records for points in the meet and points as a team.

This was also the first time girls’ matches were held in the state meet, serving as qualifying matches for the New England Regional Tournament.
