EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Over 30 years ago, Lori Lee Malloy was found dead on her bathroom floor.

Her death was originally determined to be caused by natural causes.

After the medical examiner lost his license to practice, Malloy’s case was reopened by officials just last year.

Now, her case is becoming a television series inspired by her daughter’s podcast.

Lauren Malloy, since learning about the background of her mother’s death, created a podcast titled “My Mother’s Murder” as she pushed for answers in mother’s case.

Malloy still continues to search for answers, as her mother’s case is still considered to be unsolved.

Chloë Grace Moretz will star in the series, as she announced the news on X yesterday.

“So excited to release this news! Head to audible now to binge the podcast,” she wrote.

“Can’t believe this is real! Thank you to every single person who’s supported my fight for my mom, and everyone who helped fight for Rhode Island’s first statewide cold case unit,” wrote Malloy.
