RIC Women’s Basketball Ranked #20 in National Preseason Poll

Rhode Island College has been picked No. 20 in the 2024-25 D3hoops.com Women’s Basketball Preseason Top-25 Poll.

Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove’s team finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 29-1 overall record, a perfect 16-0 (first place) mark in the Little East, won the Little East Regular Season and Tournament titles for the fourth straight season and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Div. III Championship for the second straight year.

The Anchorwomen return six student-athletes from last season, including senior guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.). As a junior in 2023-24, Medbury was named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region 2. She was also named First Team All-Little East, Fourth Team All-Region by the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) and the Most Outstanding Player of the 2024 Little East Women’s Basketball Championship. She played in 29 games, starting all of them. Medbury averaged 8.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.6 apg and 2.2 spg.

RIC also returns senior forward Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.), who was named Second Team All-Little East. She played in 29 games, starting all of them. She averaged 10.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.3 apg and 0.9 spg.

Rhode Island College opens the 2024-25 season at home vs. Western New England on Wednesday, Nov. 13 (7:30 p.m.).
