RIC’s Izzy Booth, Sophia Gurrier Named WBCA All Stars
Rhode Island College senior forward Izabelle Booth (Newport, R.I.) and graduate guard Sophia Guerrier (Waltham, Mass.) were one of 20 senior student-athletes in the nation selected to participate in the second annual Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Senior All-Star Game to be held in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, March 16 (4 p.m.) in conjunction with the 2024 NCAA Div. III Women’s Basketball Championship Final Four.
Booth is playing in the game, while Guerrier elected not to travel.
Booth, a First Team All-Little East selection, played in 30 games, starting all of them. She averaged 11.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.3 apg and 1.1 spg.
Guerrier was named the Little East Women’s Basketball Player of the Year for the second time in her career, as well as earning First Team All-Little East honors and a spot on the league’s All-Defensive Team. She played in 30 games, starting all of them. Guerrier averaged 11.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.5 apg and 3.0 spg.
Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove’s team posted a program-record 29-1 overall record and a perfect 16-0 mark in the Little East on their way to winning the Little East Regular Season and Tournament titles for the fourth straight campaign and reaching the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Div. III Women’s Basketball Championship for the second consecutive season.
