Son of late mobster sentenced to life in prison for 2019 murder

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha said that the son of late mobster Frank “Bobo” Marrapese was sentenced to life in prison for the 2019 murder of his ex-girlfriend.

46-year-old Michael Marrapese was originally charged with first-degree domestic murder in the killing of his ex-girlfriend Lauren Ise in March 2019.

Neronha said that Marrapese confessed to a friend that he had murdered Ise on March 12, 2019, after the two had broken up.

At the time police said that the couple had “domestic issues in the past” and that Ise felt threatened by Marrapese after they broke up.

An autopsy found ligature marks around the victim’s neck, and a DNA profile from fingernail clippings obtained from her body matched Marrapese.

Neronha said Marrapese had pled guilty to the charge and had previously confessed to sheriffs escorting him to the courtroom prior to his arraignment.

He was sentenced to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.
