Traffic comes to standstill as Biden heads to Somerset

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Drivers on Interstates 95 and 195 came to a stop Wednesday afternoon as President Joe Biden made his way from Warwick to Somerset.

Both the northbound side of Interstate 95 and the eastbound side of Interstate 195 were completely shut down for the president. Driver on the opposite sides saw traffic come to a slow as Biden drove past.

The roadways reopened after the president’s police escort was out of the area.

The president headed to Brayton Point to give a speech on tackling the climate crisis and seizing the opportunity of a clean energy future to create jobs and lower costs for families.
