Trial begins for Cranston woman accused in deadly 2020 hit and run
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The trial begins Tuesday for a Cranston woman accused in a deadly hit and run.
24-year-old Skyla Gilroy is facing two felony charges in connection to the fatal crash in December of 2020.
Police said Gilroy was driving on Airport Road when she hit Donald Boss as he walked in front of the Speedway gas station.
Police said Boss died after his body was dragged by Gilroy’s car.
According to police, Gilroy immediately drove away.
Gilroy was arrested by US Marshals in Arizona two months later, and she was eventually extradited back to Rhode Island.
Gilroy’s trial begins at 9:30 a.m. at Kent County Superior Court.
