URI Men’s Hoops Signee Leggett Unharmed After Murder Attempt By Former Classmate

URI men’s basketball signee Ishmael Leggett is unharmed after an incident in Maryland Monday.

Leggett was believed to be the intended target of a murder attempt by a former classmate, who was arrested Tuesday for multiple charges.

In a statement, Rhode Island head coach David Cox saying, “I am aware of the situation with Ishmael Leggett and have been in contact with him and his family. Thankfully he was not harmed, as his well-being is my primary concern.”
