Walshe trial begins with grim accusations of murder and body disposal in town dumpsters

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The murder trial of Brian Walshe has officially begun, with the prosecution saying the defendant murdered his wife in their Cohasset home around New Year’s Day in 2023.

Walshe’s defense attorney claims that the defendant found his wife Ana in bed, unresponsive to a nudge, and realized she had died, according to our ABC affiliate WCVB Boston.

The prosecution alleges that Walshe murdered his wife and dismembered her body before dropping the remains in multiple dumpsters around Cohasset.

Ana Walshe’s body was never found.

Walshe is charged with first-degree murder, along with unlawful disposal of a body and misleading police.

He pleaded guilty to the latter two charges, but denies meandering his wife.

The prosecution also says that they will present financial records showing Ana Walshe to have had a $1 million life insurance policy.

Brian Walshe was the beneficiary of the policy, according to the prosecutor.
