WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The splash pad in Woonsocket reopened in time for families to soak up the final stretch of summer.

The city announced Wednesday that its splash pad reopened earlier this month after an electrical issue caused it to close on June 16. The city noted that a shipping delay also pushed back the reopening.

Families took advantage of the sunny weather and spent the day getting splashed at the World War II Veterans Memorial Park.

The reopening came after a scorching July, with the National Weather Service issuing a heat advisory in Rhode Island for a few days toward the end of the month.

Woonsocket’s splash pad is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
