82 new COVID-19 cases, 3 additional deaths in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health reported Tuesday three new fatalities and 82 new cases of COVID-19.

This brings the states death toll to 1,078 and a total of 23,250 positive cases.

81 Rhode Islanders are currently hospitalized, 9 are in ICU, and 5 are on a ventilator.

Health officials reported 5,372 tests were conducted the previous day, with a daily positivity rate of 1.5%.
