RIDOH reports 98 new COVID-19 cases, 5 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 98 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

The figure stems from tests submitted on Sunday, not the entire weekend.

Health officials said out of the 2,009 tests administered the state collected a 4.9% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported five additional deaths, bringing the state’s total to 3,402.

There are currently 145 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 18 of these patients are in the ICU while 12 are on a ventilator.
