McKee to sign undocumented driver’s license bill

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee will sign a bill Thursday that would allow undocumented Rhode Islanders to get driver’s licenses.
Undocumented immigrants will be able to apply for “driving privilege cards and permits” once McKee signs the bill.
Those immigrants will have to show show documents proving their identity, date of birth and residency in the state at the Division of Motor Vehicles to apply.
The Rhode Island General Assembly voted in favor of the bill last week.
The governor will sign the bill at the DMV building in Cranston at 2 p.m.
